frequently asked questions

What fixtures can I play? Fixtures have been split into 3 groups, to be played across 3 deadline dates. Group 1: Rounds 1-6 (6th Nov - 31st Jan) Group 2: Rounds 7-10 (1st Feb - 31st Mar) Group 3: Rounds 11-15 (1st Apr- 31st May) You must only play players from the available fixture group. For example; for Group 1 you can only play players that are in round 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 of your fixture list, you cannot play someone you are schedule to play in round 15 until Group 3 is available.

Do I need to play my fixtures in order? No, but you can only play fixtures that are considered available. For example, you can play your round 3 fixture before round 1 but you can't play round 12 until Group 3 is available to be played.

Where can I find my fixtures? All fixtures can be found on cuescore but the fastest way to access the divisions and cups is via the links above

Are there any times we can't play singles league games? Yes. Singles league games cannot be played after 5pm on Fridays due to the flyer. There may also be other times where we will have competitions on where no tables will be available. We will post in this group when this is the case.

How should I contact my opponent? You can arrange games with opponents several ways; in person, by contacting them on Facebook or on WhatsApp or Text using the mobile numbers provided. We have supplied a contacts list containing the mobile phone numbers of everyone in the league. If your number changes at any point in the season it is your responsibility to let us know. If people are trying to arrange games with you and your number is incorrect you may be penalised if the game does not get played.

My opponent isn't responding to my messages, what should I do? Please contact Ste Clark or Anto Morris and we will confirm numbers are correct, etc. and attempt to contact the individual in question. It is your responsibility as a player in this league to reply to your opponents within a reasonable time frame with your availability when they try to arrange a match.

How do I book a singles league match? Singles league matches can be booked over the phone or in person. Unfortunately, they cannot be booked using the online bookings system. Call the club on 0151 200 6782 to book a table stating your name and the name of your opponent as well as the date and time. If you try to book a game via the Facebook groups or by messaging the sharks page this is at the discretion of staff/management as not all are in the groups so do not assume your game is booked just because you’ve posted/messaged.

What should I do when I arrive to play my singles league game? Please visit the bar and confirm to the member of staff that you have a singles league game. If your table is available and your opponent hasn't arrived yet you have the option to pre-pay for some practice before your match. When your opponent arrives you will both be required to come to the bar and pay for your match. At this point the table will be turned on and your game can start. Once your match has finished please ensure that you return the balls back to the bar and ask for the light to be turned off to prevent others playing on the table for free under your booking. Should this not happen then we will have to look at forcing the light to be turned off and in turn introducing a time limit so we ask for your cooperation so that we can avoid this.

How do I submit results? Our preference would be that you post results on the Results Post in the Wirral Singles League Info Facebook group. This helps us keep all results in a single place to update them. If you are not on Facebook please text your result to Ste Clark or Anto Morris. It is your responsibility to provide results at the end of a match whether it be you or your opponent that posts it.

When do the tables get updated? We will try to keep on top of adding results to the league tables however this is a manual job so these will not be updated instantly as soon as your result is posted.

Can I practice before my match? Yes. If you want to practice before your opponent arrives you must pre-pay at the bar (min. 15 mins) to ensure the light goes off and you aren’t overcharged the full league fixture. Once your opponent arrives, you should come to the bar, pay your match fee and your match will be activated.

Is there a time limit for games? No. Once your match is activated your booking will last for 2 hours. At this time there are no plans to add any time limits to matches however as the table system is automated the light will flash at 5 minutes before the 2 hour period is up, you will be able to continue your game to its conclusion without the light turning off. If we start to see a larger % of matches going past the 2 hour mark then we may have to look at this again in the future.

Do we use cuescore during our matches? No. Use the standard scoreboards on the tablets on each table to score your matches. We will update cuescore with the result when it is posted.

Can I book the match tables to play my singles league matches? Yes. We do allow the match tables to be used for singles league games however there is an additional cost to this. Standard singles league matches cost £3.50 per person. To play on the match table, the cost will be £5 per person. This must be paid prior to the match starting.

Can we stream our matches? If you would like your singles league game to be streamed please reach out to Anto Morris or Ste Clark and if we are available we will activate the stream. This may not always be possible so please don't be offended if we say we can't. For now, stream matches can only take place on Table 1 or Table 12.

My Opponent and I are both in Sharks and have decided to play our singles league game, can we just go on the table? No. You can play a singles league game without booking beforehand but you must come to the bar and tell the member of staff working that you are playing a singles league game and pay your match fees.

How many people get promoted and relegated from my division? All details have been posted in the Divisional WhatsApp and Singles League Info groups. Please check these for confirmation on promotion/relegation.

How many points do I get for a Win, Draw, Loss? For Divisions 1-4 the points awarded are as follows: Win - 4 points Draw - 2 points Loss & 3+ frames won - 1 point Loss & less than 3 frames won - 0 points For the Premier League the points are as follows: Win - 1 point Loss - 0 points

I was told I'd be on Table 6 when I booked but I'm on Table 10 instead, why is this? While we will always try and accommodate the specific table you request at time of booking, the booking schedule may change during busy periods. This will not impact your booking, only the table you may be assigned upon arrival.
